This is our yearly Vacation Bible School. It is generally held the week after the local public school lets out for summer vacation and is open to children ages 5 through the completion of the 8th grade.
• SYNOPSIS •
Theme: Steps to Following Jesus in Life.
Theme Verse: 1 Peter 2:21, "Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps."
Series Aim: The student will learn that following Jesus leads to the good life . . . the genuine Christian life!
Monday
Lesson Theme:Decision Pass— where you receive the Savior
Lesson Text: John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Bible Story: Meeting the Savior —Luke 19:1-10
Memory Verse: John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
Tuesday
Lesson Theme: Prayer Peak— where you talk to the Savior
Lesson Text: Matthew 6:6, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
Bible Story:Praying like Jesus—Matthew 26:36-56 (Model Prayer—Luke 11:1-10)
Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."
Wednesday
Lesson Theme:Christian Caverns— where you meet other followers of the Savior .
Lesson Text: Matthew 18:20,"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
Bible Story: Growing as Christians—Acts 2:41-47
Memory Verse: 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
Thursday
Lesson Theme: Praise Point— where you worship the Savior
Lesson Text: Matthew 4:10, "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
Bible Story: Learning To Praise—John 9:13-38
Memory Verse: John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
Friday
Lesson Theme: Witness Rock—where you tell others about the Savior
Lesson Text: John 17:18, "As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world."
Bible Story: Sharing with Others—John 4:5-42
Memory Verse: Mark 5:19,"Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee."
