Vacation Bible School wil be held at our building located at 421 S. 40th St, in Springfield OR. We are holding it Monday June 16, 2008 to Friday June 20, 2008 from 9:00am to 12:00pm with an evening program Friday night at 7:00 pm. We have chosen Bro Jerry Holliday Jr. and the mission work in Israel as our Missionary for the week. Please pray for the Lord's work over there.
Welcome to the race. We are in a hurried, fast paced world, and we need to know how to run in order to be victorious when life’s race is over. Our theme verse for this Bible school is Hebrews 12:1, 2, “Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Students will enjoy the Olympic-like sights and sounds of this theme and it will be a great tool to instill Bible truths in their hearts. For those who have watched the Olympic games or maybe attended them in person, one thing remains when the games are over—the human drama. The things we remember are the stories of the struggles and triumphs of athletes who have faced obstacles and insurmountable odds. The games are about people more than competition and world records. It is the same with God; He is all about people.
In this study of the life of Paul, we will uncover an exciting human drama—a life that was completely turned in a new direction. We will learn of a man who faced hardship and yet finished his race in the fashion of a champion. The Olympic Games are a worldwide event. The life of Paul also made an impact around the world that is still being felt today.
The life of Paul presents a great opportunity to emphasize mission work. Each lesson of this series will point to a different region of the world with one country highlighted for a closer look.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Join Other Believers in a True Church
Lesson Aim: The saved student will follow Christ in baptism, join and serve in a church.
Bible Story: Acts 9:10-31, Paul—Teamed Up with Believers
Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 3:9, “We are labourers together with God.”
Life Application: I can team up with others by being baptized and serving God in a true church.
Wednesday, June 18, 2008 Learn Ways To Serve the Lord
Lesson Aim: The student will grow in discipline and endurance in the Christian life.
Bible Story: Acts 11:19-30; 13:1-3, Paul—Trained Up with Barnabas
Memory Verse: Acts 2:42, “They continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Life Application: I can train up and faithfully serve the Lord despite hardships.
Thursday, June 19, 2008 Grow in Christian Service
Lesson Aim: The student will grow in knowledge and boldness in witnessing for Christ
Bible Story: Acts 18:1-11, Paul—Powered Up with Christ.
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Life Application: I can power up to serve Christ as a good witness.
Friday, June 20, 2008 Serve Christ with Your Whole LifeLesson Aim: The student will stay focused on sharing Christ and serving Him lifelong.
Bible Story: Acts 28:16-31, Paul—Finished Up with Boldness
Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
